Ogdensburg City School District, June 18, 2013, Day 2
Congratulations to the Winners of the 2nd Annual Ogdensburg Kiwanis of Cup Competition!
The combined team of Madill and Sherman Elementary Schools were the winners of the 2nd Annual Ogdensburg Kiwanis Cup Competiton.  The competition includes an essay contest; successful student participation in the schools reading program; achievement in art and music; and participation in school or community service projects.  With the closing of Sherman School, the Kiwanis Cup with be on display at Madill School for the next school year.  Students shown with the Kiwanis Cup are:

Boys Baseball Achieves Outstanding Season!
Congratulations to the Boys Varsity Baseball Team on their stellar season with Coach Pinkerton at the helm.  The team, shown here with State Senator Patty Ritchie, won four tremendous accolates: 2013 Central Division Champions, 2013 Section 10 Class B Champions, 2013 Capital Region Champions, and 2013 New York State Semi-Finalists.  Our community is very proud of you!

John F. Kennedy Site Based Team is proud to announce that Thirty-six students in grades 3-6 earned a trip to The Wild Center in Tupper Lake on Monday thanks to their dedication and parent commitment to reaching reading goals for this academic year.

7th and 8th Graders Head to Ottawa
The OFA 7th and 8th grade students enjoyed a much deserved field trip to Canada, Friday, June 7th.  Shown are students wearing 3D glasses preparing to watch an IMAX 3D movie about butterflies and a group of students with Mrs. Montpetit in the Museum of Civilization.

7th Graders Spend the Day at Fort La Presentation
The Fort La Presentation Foundation sponsored and educational field trip for our district's 4th and 7th graders as these levels study this historical landmark in their curriculums.  Pictured are students sitting around the Father Picquet monument, Richard Oshier (OFA 7th grader) in the full military dress and Callee Zulauf participating in a hands-on activity during the day.

UPK Applications for the 2013-2014 School Year
The UPK applications for the 2013-14 school year will be out on Tuesday, May 28th. In order for your child to be eligible for UPK they must be 4 years old on or before December 1, 2013.  A birth certificate must accompany the application. You will be able to pick up an application at Sherman, Lincoln, Madill, Kennedy, or OFA.  If you have any questions please call 393-6271 or 393-7836.
